FEEDBACK SYSTEM
PLEASE...give your sellers a chance to fix a problem before you leave
feedback/star ratings. Sellers are people too....sellers are not
perfect....sellers make mistakes....just like you. So give the
opportunity for us to correct the mistake and make your transaction a positive
experience. The rating system on eBay effects the sellers bottom line. Every
aspect of sales is effected by the rating system. A sellers items are more
visible as a top rated seller. A sellers final value fee discount is greater
as a top rated seller. And face the facts....a Neutral Feedback or a Negative
Remark in a Positive Feedback rating is a Negative...period. Either leave a
positive or leave a negative...it's one or the other. Also, if you agree to
buy an item at a certain advertised shipping price and shipping time and
that is the price that you pay and the item is shipped within the advertised
time, then you have zero right to rate a seller anything less than 5 stars
on shipping price and shipping time....ZERO RIGHT.
Examples
of positive vs. negative experience:
A) An immediate refund for an out of stock item Positive, taking two
weeks to refund Negative
B) If you can see that the seller shipped within his advertised time
Positive, If he shipped after that time Negative (remember...once shipped
the seller has no control over how long it gets to you...do not leave the
seller a negative because the post office misplaced your package for a
week).
As a seller, I would rather a buyer complain to me in an email and give me
the chance to make them happy and ultimately provide a positive experience
for my customer. I would rather have to take a small loss on an item whether
the problem was my fault or not, than to have a buyer leave undeserved negative feedback.
****
What's this mean for you? If a seller can maintain a top rated seller status
that means that ultimately they are making more money...which means that
ultimately they do not have to squeeze the buyers so much.
